For Love (High Heel)
Madame Kikuchi's Fine Collection of Contemporary Ceramics
June10 - September 3, 2017
Musée Tomo

Presented in this exhibition are approximately sixty works from the collection of Kikuchi Tomo (1923-2016), the founder of our Museum. They are works that she selected with her own eye. The exhibition traces her achievements and introduces the charms of contemporary ceramics, for which she showed a passion.
Kikuchi Tomo passed away last summer at age 93. Her father, Kikuchi Kanjitsu (1885-1967), was a businessman who was engaged in the energy industry, managing coal mines and a gas company. While serving as president of our Museum, Tomo inherited these enterprises and was also active as a businesswoman, thus contributing to both culture and economy.
